Transitional Kindergarten

Transitional Kindergarten is designed for children who do not qualify for a traditional Kindergarten program based either on age or readiness.

Transitional Kindergarten Program Content

Moldovan Academy Transitional Kindergarten (TK) is a hands-on, project based program that focuses on teaching critical thinking skills.

Our TK program follows the HighScope expanded curriculum content as well as the California Kindergarten standards. This program serves children ages 4-5 or 5-6.

Our program curriculum can be divided up into eight content areas as follows:

1) Approaches to learning

2) Social and emotional development

3) Physical development and health, language

4) Literacy and communication

5) Mathematics

6) Creative arts

7) Science and technology

8) Social studies

Beyond Transitional Kindergarten

Students who attend our TK program will have the opportunity to showcase their work through dramatic performances, art shows and a variety of other means.

At the completion of TK students have the option to either attend a traditional Kindergarten or enter the first grade. The outcome is dependent upon individual primary school entrance requirements.

Note: Students will be assessed by the Moldovan Academy administration prior to acceptance.
